I just picked up a 2010 model from a pawn shop. I'm not familiar with the models without the accu trigger. Can the factory trigger be adjusted to have a lighter pull?

Yes, the trigger will have the same preload adjustment as the Accutrigger.
Either the coil or straight bar spring have an adjustment screw. Rather... on the coil spring..it IS the adjustment screw.

I did adjust the tension on the wire. I will polish the trigger and sear after hunting season.

When you say wire does that describe a wire spring that looks like a straight line with a little 90° bend it?
Yes. I just backed it off a couple clicks. It is notched on the bottom to keep it from backing all the way out.

You can replace the stock wire spring with one made from a buzz bait lure. The thinner wire will allow you to safely set your trigger in the 2.5 - 3# range. I’m offering this because of my experience with trying to lower the trigger weight with the factory spring. After adjusting the spring the trigger worked fine for a while and out of the blue it “slam fired”. Luckily it was on an empty chamber.
I replaced the factory wire spring with one made from the lure and polished the trigger and the sear (very lightly). I have not had a problem with it since and as I stated before it is set at approx 2.5#.
