Good afternoon and thanks for allowing me on board.
I'm a retired school teacher and adjunct professor. I'm a living historian who presents the Civil War, World War II, the Revolutionary War and the Era of Pike and Shot. I have many years experience with Black powder and modern firearms. I am a veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve.

I recently acquired a Savage Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I* .303, Lend Lease "U.S. Property", Serial number 55C8780 (S not boxed on receiver). it is stamped DP on the stock (underside). it also has a serial # stamped on band above trigger and in addition what appears to be N "Broad Arrow" ^ Z and the #66.

Can anyone shed any light on this rifle's background?

Thanks for your time and patience.
