Hi from Germany

Hi guys,
I´m shooting my Savage Hog Hunter 11 in .223 (among a few other calibers) on a shooting range and the german "wilderness"
Living nearby Cologne hunting is my favorite in wasting leisure time
Aged 56, male, software engineer, married, 2 studying daughters and of course my Bavarian Mountain Scent Hound for hunting purposes.
I love my Savage HH due to it´s precision and the accu trigger, but the plastic gunstock is a downside, because it´s, from my personal point of view, not as sturdy as I would expect it to be.
I would like to replace it, but this is something for a new thread in the related area...


Looking forward to exchange of informations regarding my Savage HH and, nevertheless, other Savage rifles

Obviously a perfect time to leave Germany, the following two decades showed up a face, we never want to see again, dark times

While recognizing your signature/place of residence words of president Ulysses Grant regarding "Uncle John´s", well, let´s say "brave" death are coming to my mind: „His loss to this army is greater than the loss of a whole division.“. Me and my wife visited NY and the General Grant National Memorial at Riverside Park a couple of years ago, we enjoyed it even more than during the 80´s, because at those times, what a shame, the Memorial was covered by Graffitis...

I´m still in touch with the final years of Grant and Sedgwick, because some of my former relatives left Germany during that period of time to search for a better life in the new world.
Today their descendants are living nearby Seattle, Tacoma and Spokane. We meet as often as possible...
I find it great to see, some of you guys with german roots still speak German after several generations. Respect
As to my US relatives, they are just familiar with two german words: "Sauerkraut" and "Regenwetter"
"Sauerkraut" allways comes up while enjoying a Reuben Burger
Hopefully none of them is reading here also, revealing their lack of german language-skills ends up in being punished next time we meet
While meeting they are asking for the whole day: "What is the german word for...?", hard days for me

It´s a small world. A couple of days ago my job obligations took me to Bad Nauheim, it´s not that far from Cologne
