MY Savage 110 - Need your opinion on color

    Hello peeps,

I have a Savage 110 (6.5 Creedmoor) that I'm thinking about painting the rings or the scope to match the desert tan color of the rifle. What do you all think? I'm curious to hear your opinions. Either way, I'm gonna paint one of the combo's.- thanks

Desert tan rings and keep scope black? or desert tan scope and keep rings black?

I would do the scope in tan and leave the rings black. That would better match the primarily tan (stock) with black accents (barreled action) look that the rest of the rifle already has.

Looks great as is. I'd just shoot it. Spend the money/time on buying ammo.

Same here... leave it as is. I’m not a fan of painted rifles and/or scopes.

I'd leave it as is but that's just me. I think it's a fine looking rifle. But given the choices, I'd paint the rings/base and leave the scope alone. You'll have a tedious job making it look factory with the power indicators and threads and you'll wear the paint on the parts of the scope that you manipulate. Might be hard to maintain. Good Luck and post your results.

If you are not painting the rest of the rifle then I would leave the scope rings black, as JBaker said. If you can paint the scope and make it look "stock", I would paint the stock.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
