Not too many details yet but my buddie just called to make sure it wasn't me. Happend abut 1 mile from my stand this morning. Apparently a hunter was shot and was found face up in a pond.

Some updates have come in. says that he was found with a bullet wound to the chest and a "large" 8 pointer at his side. His gun was leaning against a tree some 15 feet from him. I wonder if some dumba$$ took a shot at it while he was dragging it out and hit the guy and took off.

possible I heard him shoot, I did hear a few shots over the course of the morning. I'm sure I missed the later shot as I was already home by noon.
