    Savage model 1920

I have acquired a Savage model 1920 rifle in .250-3000 caliber. The barell and action are in good condition the stock is clearly a replacement, and a poor quality one at that. Does anyone have a 1920 with the trim little stock that would be willing to give me the dimensions so I can have a duplicate made? I’d really need the LOP and as many circumference measurements,( around but end, around action area, and maybe a couple measurements along forearm. I have an old Win model 54 stock that looks very close to the 1920 but longer and thicker. I could probably just duplicate the Mod 54 and trim up everywhere possible to get a smaller stock, but I’d really like to get as close to the factory dimensions as possible. Any help greatly appreciated.
Feel free to pm and I can call or send you my email.

    Tape measure, yes.
    Savage Model 1920, no.

Savage Model 1920's are few and far between these days as they didn't exactly fly off the shelves like Browning Auto-5's or Winchester Model 12's did. I know there's a couple people on here who have one, but how often they check in is anyone's guess. I know Joe (Mad Dog) has a couple, but he is usually only on here in the winter months due to his job.

hey guys i would measure mine but it looks like an aftermarket one on mine. these are great rifles and were way ahead of everyone else at the time. first bolt action short action.
mine shoots 100gr sierra MK BTHP into 1/2" at 100 yds and this is at 3050 FPS from 36.5 grs of varget which by the way, is a great powder for the 250 savage. i worked up to 42grs of it under a hornady 75 VMAX gives 3478 FPS avg!! all this and no signs of pressure at all. found that reloader 17 at 40grs under a 110gr berger out of a savage 10 i put together at 3050 FPS. sierra 90 BTHP are my deer load at 3080 FPS.

You could have the stock duplicated, using the old stock as a pattern.https://www.bing.com/images/search?q...le&FORM=HDRSC2

Find one that's close to the original; and do the final shaping!
