    Timney Triggers

I just got a Timney trigger featherwieght (2-4pounds) for my Savage 110E... on the instructions it says that the trigger should have an e-ring in the pivot pin... seems like my rifle is the older one and does not come with an e-ring.
any recommendations on how to install the trigger?

    thanks!

You may have an older trigger like these.

Instead of the "C" clip the trigger hinge pin was secured by a set screw located just above the finger pad. It angles up and forward.
The pin and clip are at the top of this pic.

You'll have to acquire or make a new pin using the "C"clip(s) since the Timney isn't D&T'd for the set screw.

Your best bet, contact SharpShooter for the pin and clip.

    Re: Timney Triggers

    thanks!
that's exactly what my trigger set looks like. Going over the Timney instructions again I noticed that it said that if the rifle was an older version they would mail the needed parts (I assume a new pin and clip), I'll call tomorrow.
For now I will continue working with the older trigger, I think I can tweek it some... though I did want to try the Timney trigger with some reloads at the range. Plus, I just changed rings (Burris Zee signature) and scope to a 3-9x40mm Zeiss Conquest... looks nice.
