    Axis firing pin conversion

Is it possible to remove axis firing pin assembly & replace with a standard 110 short action firing pin assembly (without breaking the bank)? Are the bolt bodies the same? I would like to do a lift kit on my 2018 model 110 LRH in 6.5 Creedmoor & need to get rid of the cocking indicator. The bolt assembly matches up with the Axis style bolt. The lift is stiff & gets progressively stiffer as the air temp falls. Where I live gets very cold beginning in Nov. Sub-zero cold. Thanks for any input. Tried to attach a pict, but was unable to figure out how to do it, if allowed.

Attached is a link to some picts that are identical to my bolt assembly

I am not aware of anyone who has made this swap. If I am not mistaken there are some dimensions that would not allow this to happen. length, cocking piece location etc. I could be wrong. The type of firing pin and spring combination has a different feel in the lift due to the spring design. It is not known to have the heavy lift that the standard 110 bolt has a reputation for. If anyone has done anything with it, Fred Moreo would be your man.

Is that groom lake territory or is it public data?

It was more like an experiment. So far I haven't seen things get better or worse, just adding more parts. The only advantage I see so far is the adjustability.

The more research I do the more it looks like a hybrid of the 110 & the Axis actions. The internals, firing pin, cocking mech, springs all match the Axis action, but it has a rear baffle which is a 110 feature. Did the 2 mate & mutate? Is this possible?

Just so we are on the same page......are you working on an Axis, or a 110?
