    6mm Creedmoor

Thinking of getting a 28 inch Criterion bull barrel 1 in 7 twist. Planning on shooting 110 grain smk. How will the 1 in 7 twist shoot 105 and 108 grain projectiles will it turn the projectiles into dust tear them apart? What do you all think of that twist. Thanks for your help

I don't have any first hand experience with 6creed but I would think that wouldn't be an issue. factory barrels are 1:8 so you just slightly faster. I cant speak for the lighter 6mm stuff where velocity+fast twist=hi rpm. Which might cause the jacket to fail.

My Savage Desert Tactical 26” barrel in 6mm Creedmoor with 7.5 twist shoots great with Hornady 105 BTHP and 108 gr. match bullets. But a Hornady 87 gr. VMAX or less won’t make it to a 100 yard target before the jacket fails.

Well I ordered a barrel... next question will a 6.5 mm muzzle brake work on the 6mm?

Ordered 110grn smk.. and Hornady 108 grain eld-m and Hornady new dimension dies. And some Hornady brass for starters

    Yes
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Your good to go with 1-7 twist 6 Creedmoor. I shoot primarily the 110 SMK, but 105 and 105 grainers also.

The great thing about CBI is that in the 6mm you can get a 1in7 1in7.5 or a 1in 8 twist for shooting the heavy target bullets.

    NO. I have a 1-7 6mm Creedmoor and I mostly use the 110 SMK at 3150fps.

    A 6.5 brake will work on a 6 creedmoor;but a 6mm brake will reduce recoil more

testing shows this is not accurate. It would seem like this would be true due to clearances but evidence says no.

I realize that most manufacturers suggest that, but guys are testing stuff in Precision Rifle competiton. You will have to read the whole article but here is a test from a very credible source. Precision Rifle Blog. What they find is that a 308 brake on a 6XC comes within 3% or less recoil reduction compared to a 6mm brake.
