I recently acquired a nice Savage 110 Right Hand rifle in 30.06 and I like everything about it except it doesn't have a hinged floor plate. Is there a way I can correct that with an add on? I'm willing to take it to a gunsmith to get it done, because I'd like to keep it. If not I'll sell it and get one that has the floor plate. It is a deal breaker for me as far as it being a keeper.
Is this a centerfeed or stagger-feed action? If centerfeed you just need the hinged floor plate bottom metal and a stock inlet to accept it. If it's a staggered feed you'll also need the centerfeed magazine box, spring and follower for your cartridge, and some minimal inletting work may be needed.
