I have an Xcaliber 300 PRC Savage small shank barrel being build. I was wondering what specific Small Shank Savage Long Action is suitable for this long OAL of the 300 PRC? I have heard that the 116 series have a longer magwell for CIP mags?
Appreciate all the help.
Just talked to James @ NSS and he said his 116 magnum actions have a 3.853" magwell. Think this is the ticket.
I picked up a Hornady Modified 6.5PRC case, when I was waiting for my 25 Creedmoor barrel, to see what was up? Because the Savage "short" action is actually a "medium" action, the 6.5PRC will fit comfortably seated long, with the blind box magazine NOT DBM.

Tagging in to follow this. I have also been thinking of a 300 PRC build. Have a old flat back 7 mag that I wanted to use for a donor. Just not sure if it will work or not

If it's magnum long action you should be fine. The Savage LA actions are REALLY long. Just because it's 7mm doesn't change the action length.
