    1920 Question

Can someone tell me how the safety is supposed to work on a 1920 bolt action? I just purchased one and it will drop the hammer while on safety when I pull the trigger. I can’t tell if it is a protected fall like a decocker or if something isn’t right. Thanks!

10-4. I’ve looked at the action and I can’t tell if it’s a worn sear or if it’s missing a part. When I put it on safety that bar moves to the spot that should prevent it from going off but when I pull the trigger it still allows it to pull the sears off their knife edges.

There are some pictures of a late 20/1926 in this link that show the safety parts put together - https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbth...t#Post13492264

There is a small raised prong on the safety push rod just before the long curved up front that locks the bolt closed - labeled 24 on patent drawings, part 20-198, it's supposed to block the sear, labeled 6, part 20-205 on the parts list.
