The Long Action Savage Model 111 in 30-06 can be "Barrel Swapped" into pretty much any caliber with a .473 Bolt Face (22-250 - 358) or even a 6 BR if you single feed it. Swap the bolt head and you are into the .378 Bolt Head calibers (204, 223, 300 Whisper or whatever).

You now have a Savage, you can build it into almost any caliber you can think of. A word to the wise, this can get real habit forming, proceed with caution.

I have 2 long actions and 2 target actions. The long actions are small shank. I have barrels in 223 (requires a bolt face swap), 22-250, 22-250 AI, 6mm Rem, 6mm Rem AI, 6BR (1:8 and 1:10 twist), 30BR (3 of them), and 308W. Forget about that magazine. Put a single shooter follower in it so it smoothly feeds anything you drop in it and hit your target with the first shot. I think I am at about 14 barrels for 4 actions...... :P Yes it is very addictive. Tim

Have my First aftermarket barrel due in a month or two, so not really part of the club - yet

However, when you consider the price of a good scope vs barrel prices, it might be easier on the pocket book to change barrels than it is to buy a new rifle and add a scope - rifles look so, neked without a scope on em - lol
