It requires a large shank & uses a .540” bolt face, and they are Short Action. They cycle just fine. Never seen a problem based on the case itself.

Large or small shank ?
Bolt head size ?
How do these short fat rounds cycle thru the rifle ? Good,bad, so,so, pita ?

It requires a large shank & uses a .540” bolt face, and they are Short Action. They cycle just fine. Never seen a problem based on the case itself.
Also you can use a small shank Long action if you alread have one. A long action magnum (7 Mag, or 300 Mag) donor rifle are pretty easy to make work with a WSM build. But if you are using all factory parts a WSM donor action is the easiest.
