    An mixed bag 99 in 30-30


    The serial 220,xxx is 1923? The lever boss is stamped "K" 1959?.
    20" barrel. filled rear sight with lyman tang sight.
    Excellent blue job and checkered stock.

    Looks like a 99H carbine. Production started in 1923 with the 220.. serial numbers. Checkering and barrel band are not factory but nice!! Cool old rifle!! :)

    That's a beautiful vintage 99 in a premier deer caliber, IMHO.

    I think it's an H also. Correction on the serial 270,xxx , 1925.
    Pretty sure (a very good) local smith did the blue and checkering. I'm going to follow up on that.

    Haven't shot it yet. My buddy passed last year and I'm going through his toys for his wife.
