    Accuracy of online evaluations

I use the Blue Book of Gun Values quite a lot for other gun valuations. Do you that use that service find it to be accurate? I get the feeling that the values listed may be on the high side.

I'm asking as I have a Savage Model 99A from 1904 that I'm thinking of selling. Obviously I want to price it reasonably for both myself and any possible buyers.

    Thank you.

I usually use Gunboker and try to find similar items that have actually sold not just asking prices. This puts me in touch with what the actual national market will bear rather than what folks are "asking" for the stuff. Granted it may be a lot easier with more modern stuff or items that are numerous but it's the best gauge I know of. Penny auctions are a great barometer
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.
