    Savage re barrel build question

    I have a gen 2 12fv that started life as a 204 Ruger
I converted it to a 22-250, changed the bolt face, mag and followers. It is an internal box mag, 4.275 action screw spacing.
I just rebarreled it to 6.5 creedmoor.
    Head space is set
Created a dummy round with a 139 grain Norma bullet.
Seated to 2.74 and it is too long. Won't eject and comes.in contact with the action. The round fits the mag and chambers no problem any thoughts on what to do?

    Double check head space maybe?

Perhaps your extractor is to blame?

Did you change the baffle??? You may need a baffle without the extension.

When you say won't eject what exactly happens? Does the round pop out of the extractor but is never ejected from the action? If so I believe there is an upgraded extractor/ejector kit sold by either PTG or sharp shooter supply, can't remember who. This is a rather common issue, my fcp-sr was that way from the factory.

If you are trying to extract a loaded round and it cannot eject because the bullet hits the action in front of the port you may have an oversized baffle. This is very unlikely, I do not believe your rifle is old enough for this. If this is the issue you can modify the baffle or buts standees one from Brownells or Midway, if they are in stock.

The rifle is 2006 manufacturing. I don't remember changing the baffle just the bolt face. Sounds like the place to start for $4. The round does contact the action when I try to eject. Thanks for the help! Will update after I try the new baffle.
