Converting Model 12 lrp to to 6.5 PRC

Hello... I would only have to change the boat head correct?

    Thanks for your time

My second option would be just going 6 millimeter Creedmoor shooting the 105 Berger hybrid and what is the difference between a 6 mm Creedmoor and 6 mm Creedmoor Mt has to be something about freebore I'm guessing and which would be better for the 105 Berger hybrid bullet.

I don't want bullet bearing surface to go below the neck shoulder Junction I believe is the correct terminology

What do you plan to use the rifle for? I personally love the 6mm Creedmoor and that would be my choice unless you plan to hunt elk or larger animals. If you want to shoot the 105 grain bullets with the 6mm go with the match chamber. It has longer freebore so you can seat the Bullet out longer. Just so you are aware, the 6 creed does like to burn throats relatively quick. I have seen anywhere from 1500-2000 rounds before the accuracy gets bad.

Just tired of the 6.5 Creedmoor I have two of them thought I would go 6 mm Creedmoor I am aware of throat erosion. I will be getting the barrel off Northland Shooting Supply whenever I decide. Been running 28 inch Bull Barrels for the 6.5 Creedmoor but I don't think it was necessary to go 28inch. 26 inch probably would have got me the same velocity. I have read that 6 mm Creedmoor 24-inch barrels from Criterion have been getting 3050 feet per second with 105 burgers vld or hybrids maybe even Hornady if I remember correctly. Handloads of course. Can't decide on twist rate quite yet either some say 1in7 twist or 1 in 7.7 or 1 + 8 in a 26-inch bull barrel or MTU probably go MTU.
Just shooting steel targets from 100 to 1000. And groundhogs and coyotes

I run a 22” and have no problems getting over 3000 FPS with 108 ELDM and Berger 105 hybrids. I’m about to order my second 6mm creed barrel and will probably try a 24” this time to try and squeeze a little more speed out of it. I enjoy my 6mm more than my 6.5. Less recoil and less drop out to 1200 yards but a little more wins drift. I’m going to try a 7” twist this time to shoot the 110 match king. If your going to stay with 105 hybrids an 8” twist will do just fine.

Are you using h4350 in your 22in 6 mm Creedmoor. I was also looking at the 115 dtac that would be a good one to run in 1 in 7 twist also
