Greetings from The James Bay Frontier in North Eastern Ontario

By way of introduction I'm a 76 year old who is lucky enough to still be able to do some hunting and other outdoor activities. To-day I received a Boyd's stock for my steven's 200. That's why my first post is so late at night because I've been playing with that most of the day. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction for help. I can only free float my barrel to within an inch and a half of the leading edge of the bolt barrel. Also I can't float the tang. Did a bit of sanding but didn't really help. Anyway enough with my problems. I have been checking this site for years and figured it was time to step up and register. There that was my first post. All the best Kapman

    K. I bought a boyds At-One stock for a model 12 22-250 that I put a heavy shilen barrel onto, making the barrel channel way too narrow and I didn’t want to hog out all that material for a host of reasons, one being removing that material would open up the wood to absorbing moisture since the wood is sealed from the factory.
So rather than breaking out the rotary tool I decided to bed the action and recoil lug. I just built a from dam using play dough so the action was bedded right up to and including the chamber. I used 2 part,5 minute epoxy. Worked perfectly. I used accustock bottom metal and mags and it still feeds perfectly.
    Just a thought
