Traded a barrel with CowboyArcher and bought a factory wood stock from here in the classifieds.

Specs:

Savage long action, blue, flat back
Factory trigger (not even a 3 screw!)
Factory Savage wood stock with checkering on the forearm
Barrel - McGowen stainless 30/06 of the magnum contour
EGW 20 MOA base
ARMS quick release rings
Older Redfield LE-12 (3-12x50) 30 mm main tube, 57 MOA adjustment

Probably end up changing the scope & rings because they are heavy for a hunting rifle.

Either run 155, 168, or 180 gr bullets - just need some range time to find out what this barrel likes.

I was thinking about trying a EGW base for a older LA (SF), they were listed for use with Accutrigger (CF?). You had no problem with the base fitting correctly? What scope do you think you'd be going to, with the Vortex Vipers 2-7x32 in three different plexs so cheap I thought I might buy one or two.

The only difference on your LA action would be if it's a flat rear or round rear receiver. Other than that, it will fit.

I have a Viper 2-7x sitting on my Win 70 375 H&H, and I like it a lot so far. It's only been on it for a few range sessions, or about 100 rounds.

Wearing an old Redfiedl LE-12 for optics. 3-12x50 with a 30 mm tube and turrets. Eye relief is phenomenal!!

Another rifle I recently picked up..... Savage 110 LE in 223. Factory long action in 223 caliber...all in matte black. Wearing a 10x40 Burris with turrets as well.
