Will be real interesting to see the letter on this one.
A proud addition from this week, a late production model 1907 in 32 caliber from 1920 with the original Savage mother of pearl grips featuring the Indian Head medallions. I have a letter on order for this one, I did some preliminary research back in July this past year on this piece, it was a salesman's sample, apparently remained with a salesman for five years until it was sent back to Savage for some work there was a reference of a work order but unfortunately no great detail. the primary where on this gun is edgware from handling, the case hardening on the trigger still looks good showing good color. Once I have the letter I'll post it.

Savage- "never say never".
The letter is currently on order. They've had more turnover at Savage in the last few months, I had formed a pretty good relationship with the guy that was there before I had given him the serial number and he gave me a high level preliminary, he said it was an interesting one he said the pistol was shipped as a salesman sample and then it came back to him five years later for some work it was a work order number reference but no detail on what was done to it. I'll post the letter once I get it.
