    Red face Hello from Montana


    I have been a student of the firearm for over 40 years. I have been a fan of the versatility and quality of Savage
    bolt action centerfire rifles for some years now and am planning a 6.5 x 55 build. To that that end I have bought 2 rifles in the last 2 weeks as possible donors but they are both so nice I’m not sure I can bring myself to tear them apart. Anyway that is a great problem to have. Thanks for the forum. It will provide lots of good information going forward. Mark

    Paragon22, you might want to consider purchasing a stripped Savage receiver. You can buy them directly
    through Savage ( still requires an FFL to ship it to) but it is an option, if you don’t want to tear apart a
    fine and accurate rifle to being with. Good luck!
