    110 Tactical LH ring question....

I recently had a 110 Tactical .308 LH follow me home from the gun store. It seems lonely in the gun safe (being the new guy and all), so I thought I'd get it a Nikon Black Fx1000 6x24x50 to keep it company. My question is, with the already installed rail that came on the rifle, does that provide enough height that I could get away with low rings, or would I need medium? If I was installing this on a rifle without a rail, I know I would need high's, but it seems the rail gives quite a bit of height itself..... (I would contact CS and ask them, but I am still waiting on a response from a simple question about the stock I sent them 2 weeks ago. Not sure what is up with that, I sent 3 questions to 3 manufacturers on the same day, Savage, Sig Sauer and Weatherby. I heard back from Sig Sauer about my pistol in 4 hours, Weatherby the next morning.... and nothing from Savage. Is this the norm?)

Low should work. The front of the rail touching the scope bell, not the barrel will be the limiting factor.

Low rings should be fine. I used the Warne 34mm low's on the one I had in for review with a 50mm objective scope.

Great, thanks. That scope if pretty long, so the angle to the objective is not so severe and I was hoping to get away with lows, so good news....

I usually cut them flush with the front of the action using a hacksaw, then clean up the cut end with a fine file. A black Sharpie can be used to make the cut end black again.
