    Axis 6.5 Grendel


    Hey guys. I just ordered a new Axis in .223. The main goal is to get it to reliably feed 6.5 Grendel. To be honest, I don't think that getting it to shoot accurately is an issue. A Fred Sled with a good barrel will make it shoot well. The trouble is getting it to feed reliably from a multiple round magazine. The Grendel can be a bit of a bugger to feed well. This will be about my 9th Grendel but only my 4th Savage and my first Axis. I'll be stopping by here to ask for help as you guys have already been a great help.

    You can find a 6mmBr magazine on Ebay. I found one a couple weeks ago, or you can probably modify a 223 mag pretty easily to feed the Grendel.

    Thanks guys. It is supposed to be here Friday. I'll post how it all goes and the challenges that come up. My hope is to get .223 mags to work well since they are prolific and I don't think that they are going to be discontinued any time soon.
