Depends on what you are going to use it for.

If it prints under 1” at 100yds
And you don’t intend to heat the barrel up, match or heavy shooting, spend your money on a scope and learn your rifle.
Or shoot in once at 1000yds. With intended ammo on a big target. Count how many mils or moa it fell out from zero and put the numbers in a calculator.
You should be ready to go!
    Cheers

But then you have to remember to take the calculator along and be sure it has a good battery.
Best to just put them on masking tape applied to the stock.

There are definitely many roads you can take here. For my rifles that are used for hunting and the occasional day at the range, I like them lighter and not minding the barrel getting a little warm. I usually get around this by giving it time to cool off or by taking multiple guns to the range. Other things to consider is upgrading your optics (already mentioned), upgrading your stock, and more. The answers, opinions, and good sound advice you seek are all here at this site.

I have learned a lot about my Savage rifle already and one thing I learned was that I didn't know as much about my Savage 10 FP as I thought I did ...lol.

I have two Oryx chassis and love them, but they aren't light.
I wouldn't recommended that added weight for hunting unless you are only going to use them in a blind.
Then again, with a 300 Win Mag the extra weight might be nice to reduce felt recoil.

For bench shooting, the Oryx are great.
