Used to have an account here from years past. Seems that was deleted so had to make it new again.

Been trying to make a Stevens 200 LA into a .280 Rem Mountain gun for elk. It seems like this will finally be the year to make this happen.

Intention is to do it on a budget of $1000 or less. And do all or most of the gunsmithing myself. I suspect that the rifle will be barreled by NSS because of proximity and the fact I want a braked .280 Rem 17" barrel for it.

life happens and the gun stuff really took a back seat. Divorce can do that to 2nd Amendment stuff and the way courts look at that stuff. Then I started a trucking business. That's gotten to a point I have given myself the time to now have at home and get back into my outdoors stuff.

The rifle build was always for a dream elk hunt to Colorado.
