    Thanks for the great article and pictures. I am working on a 1899 S/N 51445 and it is missing the hammer rebound spring and the firing pin protrudes and the shells will not feed into the chamber. My action is different than your picture K in that, less than a half inch below the hammer bushing screw is a second screw that hold some type of hammer rebound spring. There are spiral wear marks on the shank of this screw. From the parts breakdown diagrams I have found of the Model 99 there was a small pocket and coil spring in the 99 but I have not found what the spring in this model would look like. Because the rebound spring was missing the hammer bushing screw was bent and broken, I have found and ordered a replacement. I'm hoping you may have some information to help me out or able to point me in the right direction. Thanks for any information you can provide.
