    Just picked up a Striker

    Good evening,

I was finally lucky enough to pick up my first Stiker after wanting one for years. It’s being transferred to my local FFL, should be here tomorrow. It’s a 260 with the muzzlebrake, that’s the only thing I don’t like about it...I hate brakes. I’m thinking of rebarrel’ing it to either 243 or 7mm-08 with a longer barrel.

I’m new to the bolt pistol world, been shooting TC Encores & Contenders for years. Any tips or tricks or suggestions you can share about the Striker?

Well many if not all the factory brakes that came on the striker are adjustable and can be turned on and off by twisting them. I love my adjustable brakes (AK) and think it's a darn shame Savage doesn't offer them on more factory models without having to go through the special order shop to get them.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.

Yes, I have a 308 that has a brake too. It is an on-off deal. No biggie.

If you want to use a rifle scope instead of a pistol scope the muzzle brake will be your best friend.
