    New to the Group

    Greetings to All,
I am new to this group but you came recommended as great for knowledge and helpful to members. I am inching my way into 22 Black Powder Cartridge Silhouette shooting with my Stevens model 47 (44 1/2) 22 cal with iron sights. Great gun and wish I could do my part and not disappoint the gun so often but there is improvement every match. Thinking about getting into the scoped side of competition which helps my odds with tired aging eyes. A old friend has been talking to me about a Stevens 417 Walnut Hill 22 scoped in a period Winchester scope he would like to sell. Any experienced wisdom out there if the gun qualifies under the rules and other opinions?
