I just had a good result at 160 yards with a 6.5mm Hornady 143 gr ELD-X (but in reloaded .260 Rem)

That would approximate the Hornady Precision Hunter load for the 6.5 Creedmoor.

Hornady American Whitetail does good in most cartridges. I have heard good things about the Winchester mentioned by WBM also.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

under 200 yards with a 6.5 Creed, I think you could literally take the bullet out of any cartridge and seat it backwards and still kill deer.

LOL, you don't even have to hit the deer due to the Chuck Norris effect. The deer will just drop dead when it finds out there is a Creedmoor in the woods.

I've used Federal with 120gr ballistic tips with good results, in 260 Rem.

Some people are hunters. Some people are shooters. Both bring in venison. Hereabouts deer don't stand out in the open during daylight hours. You still need reliable expansion at the woodland ranges and offhand shots.

At that range the hydrostatic shock wave would kill it.

Both the Hornady 143 ELD-X and the Sierra 130 TGK Game King (Game Changers) shoot very accurately in my 6.5mm Creedmoor rifles.
Both have very high BCs and thin jackets to aid in expansion.
I find the 130 TGKs group about 1/4 inch to the right of the 130 TMK target bullets (under the same temperature and wind conditions) but otherwise have the same azimuth.

Under 200 yards, I don't think a deer would notice the difference between the ELD-X or the TGK bullet.

To be honest for under 200 yards essentially any bullet would work. Except of course the frangibles. Our crew has been using the sst line up in various cartridges and calibers. For soft skinned game being harvested for meat I’ve found the sst to be very effective especially if you put it in the boiler room. Turns vitals into chunky soup. The interlocks also work very well but they are lead tipped which aids in penetration before expansion occurs.
For under 200 yards you don’t need anything special. High bc isn’t relevant.
