    Seating depth for 75gr ELD-Match

I've got a pair of Model 10 223s fitted with 8 twist barrels. Both prefer the 75gr ELD-Match bullets to be seated deep off the lands. 0.075 deep. I'm just wondering if that matches the experience of anyone else here. Thanks

Good question...I have a set of 4 loads waiting to be fired from my 7 twist barrel. 23.2-23.8 of Varget and 30 thou off the lands...will let you know. What velocity are you hitting?

25 gr of CFE at 2820 fps. I was not able to get the 75s to shoot until I seated them deep. The first rifle puts them in a 1/2 inch group at 200 yards. The second I'm working on put a five round ladder load in a 1 1/4 inch circle! Those are loaded over AR-Comp powder. Push 'em deep.

Good to know. I’ve got a fast twist 22-250. If I’m ever needing to use these I know to start with a big jump.
    Thanks

I just got a reply from a guy on a reloading thread on FB and he confirmed that the ELD's like a long jump in his 300 mag. Must be a common characteristic of the ELDs. Good to know.

Shot some groups with the 75gr ELD in .223 So to get them .030 off the lands I had to load them way long at 2.480" for a Wylde chamber. I didn't realize it at the time but they were so long they would not fit in the 12FVs blind magazine...oops. Ended up having to feed them by hand and had 2 groups shoot 1/2 moa. So I guess they can be loaded long as well? Although I am obviously going back to the drawing board to see how short I need to make them for the magazine.
