I have a rifle (308 winch 70 coyote light full equiped out of the box)that can be exchanged with this savage. Is this a good plan? Or should I keep mine?it's for hunting
    Thanks

A .338 Win Mag with a light hunting stock will 'get your attention' with the added recoil.
I would expect that your .308 Win recoil will feel light in comparison.

Unless you are going for some pretty large game and don't have a problem shooting with heavier recoil, I am not sure it is a good exchange, unless of course, you just want to get rid of your .308 and try something else.

That's excactly my dilemma.i never hunted with a 308 and i'm afraid that's not powerfull enough for clean kill on heavy wild board ,here in france.my 308 was for target shooting until now..

No worries with the .308. Use a 168 gr or larger bullet and it will do fine. Are the Barnes TTSX available in France? That would be my choice.

In fact, as I understand it is one of the preferred choices.

Not that I would try and talk anyone out of buying another rifle!

I personally would not trade your Winchester for the Savage. And I agree, .308 is fine for boars. Use a good bullet as Stumpkiller says. Good luck and let us know how the hunting goes!!

Thanks sir for answer.Yes this bullet is available but it's expensive.i don't reload too.I missed to precise that our hunting mode here is the driven hunt.games are running so stoping power and shot placement are essentials.
But your right, bullet choice is the most important factor!
