Hello Savage Shooters! We are always looking for new additions to our line up and the Short Action Sporter stock has been requested more and more (in the configuration below).

I really like the idea. I have one of these on a 700 I am giving to my nephew for a high school graduation present. If you can, try And lighten it up as much as possible. Outside of McM and Manner there are very limited light options for a Savage. A budget lightweight stock would be a winner IMHO.

Yes! I’ve been emailing you about this for over a year! Short actions outsell long actions by 3:1 at least. Bigger market for you. These are fantastic stocks. I’ll out my McMillan on hold if you are seriously producing these?
Seems like alot of short actions are being sold, cause of the price and ease to build what you want.

Ditto that! Good synthetic stock options for us lefties that don't cost $600+ or require waiting 9-12 months to get it are non-existent. I would much prefer a synthetic sporter stock that's under 2-lbs, but as a lefty I know beggars can't be choosers. A LH short-action option for the Target/Competition and/or M40 stocks would also be greatly appreciated.Originally Posted by DQL5150
I would focus solely on the current 4.40" centerfeed DBM models and not worry about the older style short-actions or blind mag guns at this point. Unfortunately you still have to make two variations for each configuration since Savage still can't make up their mind and continue to offer both top and bottom bolt release models.

I would definitely love to see this available. I have a handful of short action Savages that need good stocks.
I am curious as to why it's only long action in the first place. But I would be down for one if you went short...
Historically OEM manufactures sold way more long action rifles than short action. The 6.5 Creedmoor and a few others previous to it has really pushed the short action up in numbers in the last 5 to 10 years.

Personally I don't consider 2.25 # to be lightweight, when the factory plastic stock is 24 oz. and the factory walnut LWH stock is 27 oz.
I'd have to know what the advantage of a B&C stock is over the factory Accustock before I'd be interested. Both weigh about the same and both have the aluminum bedding to the sling stud. On the surface, this seems like a very expensive paint job, but I'm all ears if there is something I'm missing.

This would be an excellent stock to add in. Hard to find the more “hunter” style stocks that aren’t laminate.
