So a family member has a model 1899 in .30-30 Winchester in fair condition that they want to sell. I have pictures but they are of poor quality so i don't think they would be of any help, no bluing, some pitting, furniture has dent's, scratches, and little finish . The serial number puts the date of manufacture at 1907. Also it is functioning, It has been recently fired... but I have no idea of bore condition. My question for the esteemed members of this forum are...
Where on the rarity/scarcity scale is a .30-30 1907 model 1899?

You must not be keeping up on current 99 prices. Even the most abused hard on the eyes specimens are selling for over $500 these days. Gray rat's with fairly decent wood are fetching $800-1000 quite easily.Originally Posted by Big Al1

O.K. thanks for the reply's. I see on truegunvalue.com it seems the average is floating around $800... but that is for various condiition, age, chambering, version, ect.
Can anyone tell me if versions chambered in .30 -30 are rare/common/sought after?

My most recent purchase, two months ago, was a 99G takedown in .250-3000 in excellent condition with a Marbles tang sight for $600. I have six 1899/99's all takedown and never paid over $600. $400 for an 1899A in .38-55. The auction sites are overpriced!!
