    Wisconsin Opening Day

My Savage in 300 Rem Ultra Mag added it’s first buck to her trophy list. Any Buck is a trophy in my book, gave thanks to the man upstairs for this fine food.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

Any day afield is a good day. . Just be careful with bullet selection using that beast on whitetail. I've shot 2 with 180gr sirocco bondeds over 200 yards out that you would have had to drink with a straw. A hole you could throw a basketball through and a deer skin bag full of purple mush is all that was left.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.

Yes that’s true, I tried to stay in the ribs. It was a text book shot heart lungs both just mush on he inside, I did catch the left front lower muscle the exit hole though the ribs was over and 1 “ dia as I was able to stick a 1” doll rod in the exit wound. I was using 180 grain factory A Swift that Remington loaded in them they were level III that is all I could find.
I thank the big guy in the sky for the food, I know have fresh meat, thanks to my Savage.
