    New Savage Quality

My first post so please forgive me if this model has already been discussed. I did do a search but nothing came up?

I own one of the first Model 10 LE >308 Precision Carbines with the 20" contoured barrel and Digital Camo HS Stock. This rifle has been flawless over the years and can easily shoot .75" 5 round groups with Federal 168Gr Gold Metal Match. Hornady 155gr and 168gr go into .85" for 5 rds.

I am looking at purchasing this rifle in 6.5CM as it seems like a steal! I am someone who likes good accuracy. What are everyone's thoughts on this rifle and what do you think I can expect for accuracy using factory ammo, if I don;t drink allot of coffee that morning? lol

    Thank You
With great range comes great responsibility

I would think that it would be reasonable to expect that rifle to easily shoot under 0.75 inches at 100 yards.
I recently bought a 10T-SR with a 24 inch barrel that is made by Savage for Cabela's that was $550 with a rebate.
It has an Accu-stock and a longer barrel but also came with the same full length scope mount that the picture shows.

It easily shot well under 1 inch with factor ammo out of the box and have averaged 0.383 inches for 5 round groups with hand loads with a variety of 130 or 140 grain bullets. It shot just over that with 142 and 147 grain bullets.

I have another Savage in 6.5mm Creedmoor that shoots even more accurately but it is a 12 LRP with a 26 inch barrel, a precision target trigger (10 oz. from the factory), and a HS precision stock - definitely not a hunting rifle - but it is the most accurate target rifle that I own.

The 6.5 caliber is the most accurate caliber that I own and outshoots my Savage .308s that coincidently both average 0.457 with 5 round groups at 100 yards - one mostly with 155 and 168 grain bullets and the other mostly with 175 to 200 grain bullets.
