Does any one have this Savage in 223 and can tell me about its accuracy from 100 to 300 yds ?
I am undecided between this rifle and the savage 12 fv from cabelas.

I think the firing pin system in the M25 is weak. 223 ammo often has hard primers due to potential use in AR style rifles. I'd get the Savage 12. I have a Savage 10, 11, and the M25. I am much happier with the 1X rifles.
So far I'm getting reasonable accuracy at 100 and 200 if I use federal primers.
Thank you for the reply I appreciate it
I bought a new Mod. 25 in .223 and found I couldn't eject an unfired round without taking a hammer to the bolt handle. The bullet seems to be sticking in the lands. Sent it back for repairs and they sent back a Mod. 64 .22 semi. After being notified of their error, they asked me to return the .22 and they would try to find mine, which they eventually did. It just arrived with a note that they honed and polished the chamber, fired 4 rounds with no malfunction. I chambered a round of Winchester 55 gr. ammo and it still needed a hammer to open the bolt. I called them back and was informed they were closing today for the summer break and would reopen on July 15. I was instructed to call back then. A screw was missing behind the trigger guard when it came back, but I later found it in the box. I am becoming very annoyed to say the least. I am in Canada, so I was dealing with the Lakefield Ontario facility.
