    Axis 3006 doesnt chamber properly. Jambs..


    March of 2016 bought this gun new.. it never chambered properly.. bullet gets sideways too much and bolt stops.. tried new clip amd didnt change. Tried another axis 3006 clip and still didnt chamber.. its a one shot gun for now. I wrote savage email and waiting to hear.. ideas?? Bought this for my son and hes 20 and frustrated as i am.

    I found out.. the end of the bolt has a peice i needed to turn 180°. Now works perfect... thank god. Wierd though..

    That piece is called the front baffle. One side is longer than the other which allows you to change the bolt travel slightly for long or short action cartridges.

    Never even looked at an axis. Baffle obviously a little different than 10/110s. Learn something new every day. Now I gotta go to Wally world to see exactly.

    Basically the lug on one side of the baffle is about half as thick as the lug on the other side.

    Thanks Jim,
    That saves me a trip for now. Often thought about working over an axis, now 1 less surprise.
