    SSS?

I have to ask: when I see "SSS" I thought it referred to "Shoot, Shovel & Shut-up" about dispatching intruders without "bothering" the proper authorities and such.

Going to do a little deer hunting. 220F Slugger and Marlin MR-7 in 25-06. 220 local and the 25 for the mountains. Shot a Doe today with the Slugger, one shot one kill. She dropped like a stone where she stood. Man I love when that happens.

Deer hunting with Winchester 70 7mm mag to start season then switch to Stevens 7mm-08 after first kill. If lucky then will take Axis 308 for a while, have other Axis set up in 22-250 for coyotes after deer season ends.

We have a month left in our deer season and I will be toting my newly acquired Savage 99 in 250 Savage through closing day.
I have already have taken three deer. A doe with a Winchester 94 30/30 iron sights. A nice 8 pt with an H&R 357 mag Handi-Rifle. A spike with a Browning BAR in 25-06.

I want a 444 pretty bad, actually since I was about 12, now we can use them for deer hunting. I quit hunting deer here for 16 years because we cant use real high powers, only started again for my son. For this year I let him use my mossberg 20 and I carry a 1911 to push through the brush. I have taken 2 deer with the 45 so far.

I've toted a Savage Axis 243 for whitetail in Texas and Oklahoma this season and have anchored 4 deer and a handful of hogs. Its wearing a Leupold vx-3i 3.5-10 scope. I handload a Barnes 80 ttsx at 3425 fps. It's quite effective.

This year was pretty good for my son and me.

Whitetail doe at 216 yards with a Howa Mini-action in 6.5 Grendel
Whitetail buck at 235 yards with a Howa Mini-action in 6.5 Grendel
125lb Black bear at 265 yards with a Howa Mini-action in 6.5 Grendel
342lb Black bear at 80 yards with a Ruger American in 308
Various pests (ground hogs, marmots, skunks, etc...) with 22lr, 300blk and 6.5 Grendel
Next year I hope to add a Savage to the list.

I will be shooting my axis in 22-250 for coyotes. For Big game either my Winchester model 88 in .308 or my trusty excalibur exocet 200.
