Here, Kitty Kitty Kitty and a Nice buck too

Recently put together an older flatback 110 in .243 for one of my cousins. I did a trigger job bolt lift kit as well as changing out the barrel to stainless and installing a Boyds featherweight thumbhole with the spades checkering. He topped it with a Zeiss conquest 6-24x50. So far he has taken this nice predator kitty as well as a really nice mature West Alabama 8 Pt. A few more turkeys and rabbits will not be on his menu now and it should make a dandy mount for the camp house.
I had seen this deer earlier in the season while hunting with my grandson and didn't take a shot at 400+ yards but definitely put it on my hit list, another hunter saw it, shot and completely missed at about 150. He was seen and made it across the road when my cousin was hunting and into the thick stuff but screwed up when he came out in the back of a green field to check it out at about 250 yards. A 100gr factory load put him right down for the count.

A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.

Nice pair! The kitties are still off limits here in Ohio - both for hunting and trapping. They came off the state's endangered species list about 5 years ago now, and last year we tried to get a limited trapping season opened up, but no dice.

Me too. Just finished a 100 Flatback in 243 with the Boyd's thumbhole lightweight in nutmeg. Fine looking critters.

That would be a good day for sure, and a shooter buck anywhere.
As for the protected status of so many predator species, ultimately the hunters will have to decide on that.
That one dead cat alone saved a lot of turkeys not to mention others.
