Axis 270 Win is the Bolt interchangeable with 223 Cal.

I was thinking of buying a 223, and I have tactical bolt on my 270, will it work on Axis 223?

Don't want to anything stupid, and get hurt, or hurt someone else.

    Thanks!

I am not an axis expert but it is possible that it may work with if the bolt head is changed and the firing pin protrusion is correct. Am I missing somethng?

So, my understanding after some questions to vendors.

You have a bolt that fits your current Axis in .270 and you want to change to a .223 barrel? The bolt face needs to be changed since the .223 is much smaller base diameter than the .270. Check with EABC. They fit new bolt faces to existing bolts, even the Axis.

But, you will need to change the bottom hardware as well if you want to use a .223 magazine.

This all does ASSUME that your current bolt is a standard spec for the Axis. If it is aftermarket then it might not work.

You too! This retirement stuff ain't too bad after all. Was in Wal-Mart and they had a 223 Axis for $269. Already have two but what the heck. Could one more be a bad thing? Don't think so.
