Savage Mdl 11 accu trigger adjustment or replacement

I have a Mdl 11 in .308 Win that I am using in CBA competition and I can only adjust the trigger down to about 2 lbs and 7 ounces. I also have a Savage mdl 16 in .250 Sav that has the trigger adjusted down to about 18 ounces. I would like the mdl 11 to go down to about the same 16 to 18 ounce area. I have been told that there is a "varmint spring" that can be purchased to do this. Has anybody done this on their rifle?

yep. Hundreds of them. There are 3 styles of Accutrigger models. One is "hunter". Another is "Varmint" , the third is "Target". Target is disticnctly different than the others. Parts are not interchangeable. Varmint and Hunter are essentially the same, Varmint has a lighter reset spring. Not all Varmints will go down to that low (1.5 pounds). Some will safely, some will not.

Is the "varmint spring" interchangeable with the "hunter model"?

Yes. You can order from GunShack. Listed as Savage Target spring. That should get you down to around 1.5 lbs.
