    Bottom metal questions

I finally finished the edge, pic posted. Now on to the next build.

I have a 30 nosler barrel ordered from Mcgowen. I thought I would give the Boyd's at one a try, it arrived today. I'm not sure if it will stay or not. I have some ideas for it. The donor is a long action dbm. The 30 nosler will fit in the mag but only 2 rounds. Maybe 3 after modifying the lips and follower. I want to use AICS mags so I don't have OAL restrictions. I know a lot recommend CDI. From what I have seen it seems they are all recessed into the stock and I dont care for that too much. PTG makes one but I'm not sure I like the bulk of it. I live an hour from PTG. Thinking of calling to see if they have a retail store so I can check it out in person. From what little pictures I have found, I like the looks of the Accurate Mag setup the most. I haven't been able to find much on the LA DBM. It accepts the 3.850" mags, they have the specific for the 300 RUM. I have a 7mm RUM so thinking this setup would work for both.

I would like to know if anyone has been using the Accuracy Mag setup and if there is any reason not to go this route.

    Thanks

The Accumag DBM is what I chose to use. The trigger guard sits proud about 1/10th of an inch when the front is flushed out, and the DBM is contoured (designed for the AccuStock) while the McMillan A-6 I was putting it into is not, its flat.

I did machine the DBM and trigger gaurd, removed about .104" from a couple surfaces and got it to fit rather nicely into the stock.

CDI sits below flush in just about everything, I think they designed it for a 2x4 or something. Here it is in a McMillan A-5

Thank you for the pictures. I like the way that looks over the CDI. I have a lathe and milling machine so I have no problem with fitting if I need to. I had to do quite a bit of inletting on my edge build.

Here's a couple pictures of the adjustable comb I built.

Here's the new Savage AICS bottom metal as found on the 110 Tactical and 110 Scout. Similar to the Accurate Mag (what Savage used in the past), but this is Savage's own design that's being made in house now.

Inlet on the bottom of the aluminum skeleton of the AccuStock is flat which should make it easy to inlet for (above), but the outside is still rounded to match the slight curvature of the belly of the AccuFit stock (below).

I'm not patient enough to wait. Just waiting on the barrel is hard enough. I want to use CIP length mags and like the way the Accurate fits so going that route. I will post pics after I get it all together. Thanks
