    brass fir to shell holder

friend of mine has a new Savage LRPV in a 6BR, had it a week or so and noticed the brass was hard to extract, sent rifle back to Savage, they installed a new barrel, according to Savage the chamber was slightly off center, he gets it back, he is telling me that he gets weird flyers 4 in the group and a flyer about 2 in away ect, after about the brass is reloaded 3 or 4 times he is saying some cases are hard to put in the shell holder, any thoughts where to start looking, he is thinking there might be an issue with the bolt head.

Savage bolt heads are generally oversized and cases are usually a bit undersized. For instance, most Savage standard bolt heads (.473" case head dia.) measure around .480-.482" while most brass will measure in the .467-.470" range. I would suspect a brass issue long before I would try to attribute the issue to the bolt head. I've run some pretty hot loads over the years and never had a case head expand to where it wouldn't fit into the appropriate shell holder (well, except for that .204 Ruger I turned into a belted mag...)

What's his brass prep consist of between loadings?

I would inspect the rim. Hard extraction can cause the lip to warp. Also hot loads could be pushing the base oversized and down causing the extractor groove to get thin.

The brass has been over pressured.

It is Lapua brass and its life started out in this firearm. The first barrel had a chamber issue and Savage rebarreled it and from what i was told ran it through their custom shop.

    Gun is skim bedded.

All cases are trimmed to same length.
All cases are ran through a Forster full length bumping the shoulders back Two Thousandths.
CCi 450, 107 Sierra, 29.2 H4895 or 30.4 Varget. No pressure signs once so ever.
4 cases have had the extractor groove grow.003 and wont slide into a shellholder. Were they over pressured, Caused by the first chamber, or a bolt issue?
