    338-06 length trimming options

I hope my first real post isn't a "been discussed 1000x". I searched, honest. And tried a general internet search. Lee can custom make me a length gauge for not very much ($15 + shipping) but was wondering if there was something out there I was missing. Same as 30-06? Can't be. But I can get the dies no problem (already bought and received the barrel).

Anyone here have experience with this round, what do you use?

    Thanks in advance.

Sierra loading manual list the case length as 2.494 and a 30/06 as 2.494.
Beyond that you could get a plug type gauge from Sinclair to measure the length of yours.
It would require shortening a case, insert the plug/gauge in the shortened case and chamber it in the gun for an exact case legnth.

Thank you for the info, it looks like they are indeed same case length.

Never used that gauge your talking about, but it does sound like a good option. Thanks.
