    Best bottom metal aics

    What's the best bottom metal available for a 10 short action bottom bolt release? Looking for something that doesn't take much work to fit and has the best bolt release. It's going in an accustock that has factory dbm.

    Check Pacific tool, I ordered mine from them. Supposed to have little to no fitment issues.

    I second that. PTG is the only one I'm aware of that;
    a) doesn't cost a fortune
    and
    b) actually has a release button, instead of just a cutout for a tool to hit the release on the trigger.

    Also reasonably priced for what they are. (IMO more solid than the more expensive CDI stuff.) $168 vs $209

    CDI, PT&G, Accurate Mag, and AtlasWorx all offer Savage DBM systems.

    I favor Accurate Mag, though I'll have to make some modifications to it to sit flush in the stock (The trigger guard sits 1/10" proud in McMillan A-6). It is designed to drop in to a Savage AccuStock.

    CDI and PT&G, offer options for Bottom Bolt Release, I've never been pleased with PT&G's consistency and tolerances on bottom metal, and CDI sits below flush in just about every stock on the planet, I think they designed it to fit into a 2x4. AtlasWorx has the same issue as CDI plus they use an oblong front action screw hole to accommodate the different action screw spacing's of the Savage short actions.

    They all do serve their roles well, and I don't have any real complained of functionality, maybe I'm just picky.

    I would go with something other than pt&g.
    Mine was a pain to get to fit and work right in my hs stock.

    I was speaking to a gun smith about Savage stocks and DBM assemblies. He recommended AccurateMag.

    I'm confused, Accurate mag started that they don't fit bottom bolt release models, only side?

    I would too, but they don't have a bottom bolt release model.
