.223 Magazine question

I tried to post pictures, am unable. Links are below.

I am a new Savage Axis II .223 owner and I bought an additional magazine online and the one that arrived has a different latch than the one boxed with the rifle.
When I search online I can't find one like the one I received anywhere and when I search the UPC and part numbers all of the pictures look like the one that came with the rifle, NOT like the "new" one.

Both seem to be alike in every way except for the latch and the Savage logo.
Both will feed dummy rounds through the rifle.

What gives?

My LH Axis 270win came with the magazine like the one on the left in your second pic but I sure wish it had the Savage logo like the one on the right, looks pretty cool. I guess they’re in the process of changing the design a lil bit...?

In my Axis with Boyds stock both types of magazines fit and function the same.
It may be that the old style is being phased out but I haven't seen anything "official" yet.
I ordered a couple "new style" replacement floor plates from ebay since I think I prefer the "new style".
I may end up not needing them, but if I order additional magazines online I won't know which is coming since they both have the same part number on the packaging.

Does anyone have the base plates for the long action mags yet?
