Talley lw rings for Savage 116 LA

I have a Savage LWH in a long action and have a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14X40 30mm tube SF CDS on the way.

Which Talley’s lightweight integral rings would be the best to get me the lowest but still give me room for eye relief adjustment backards without the front of the base hitting the bell? I do have a Savage LWH in SA with non extended integral rings but don’t recall if they are low or ex-low with a Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 and that base will hit the bell at probably 37mm. I’ll post a pic so it’s clear what I’m talking about.

Does anyone have this combo that can give me first hand experience?

I was looking at the front extended only low #73X725 and the medium #74X725

I have some extended lows on my long action Axis with a Nikon 4-12x40 and it easily clears. In fact, I could even go to extra low if were not for the zoom ring. In general with the Talleys I find that a 40mm always seems to fit the low rings (.400" height). And you can never go wrong with getting the single extended mount.

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it! Sounds like the lows with the front extended would work for me. Is your scope a 1” or 30mm tube? Mine is a 30mm.

The Nikon is a 1" tube. I also have several 30mm tubed, 42mm lens SWFA scopes on Savage 12's that also are on extended/regular low mounts...
