    Range report: 1937 Model 99 EG 30-30


    Well. Tried some Federal 170' S prior to taking her to pieces for cleaning and lube. Very accurate, but velocity spread was 94 fps. Averaged 2250. Nice quick barrel! Largest 3 round 50 yard group was 1 1/4 smallest 1/2 inch. After the work, point of impact was unchanged at +6 inches. Group size... 1st. was 7/16 2nd 5/8 and the 3rd 3/8 inch. Again, open sights 3 rounds at 50 yards.
    I'm amazed by this 81 year old girl. So much for the innaccuracies of: lever actions with 2 piece stocks, open sights and being a 30-30...

    Those old timers surprise with how well they shoot! The shooter just has to do his/her part!!
