    New Axis magazine

Just purchased a new Axis 7mm-08. The magazine that came with the rifle has a completely redesigned latch assembly. It is made of plastic but is not ridged. It slides back and forth with the assistance of springs. Looks to be a much better system. I called Savage and they knew nothing of the new design. Has anybody knowledge of the new magazine?

Hmmm... You may not be able to post pics yet because you don’t have enough posts.. Nonetheless, can you post a link perhaps from the website you bought it from? I’m a new owner of a Savage 270win & I’ve considered buying a second magazine; just curious about this one. Thanks!

I spoke with a Savage gunsmith today. They did not know about the new magazine. They had to check with manafacturing to find out they are making a new one. She said to check in a month or so and they might have a part number, but not at this time.

Upload to Imgur or similar free site, then simply post the link! Interested to see the new design as well.

Here is what you are trying to post in picture.
Yes it does look different, you have any problems with feeding ammo, or slide sticking.

I wondered about that also. If I hold my left hand under the magazine on my Axis and cycle the bolt it drags on the mag.

Both styles work fit the same and work perfectly in my Axis fitted with Boyds stock.

This could be a game changer for lightweight rifle lovers.
